CARL GUSTAFSSON

Carl Gustafsson has a degree in electrical engineering, having worked with electrical installations in housing projects and industry. For instance, he has worked at ABB with installation of high voltage systems, switch and transformation stations and AC / DC equipment for paper and steel mills. One example is the Electric Furnace 83, an experimental induction furnace for heating of iron bars at SSAB steel mill in Luleå, North Sweden. Mr. Gustafsson has also experience in teaching electrical engineering at the technical high school level, in the city of Kalix, also North Sweden. Recently he has implemented security systems at different research companies. Mr. Gustafsson has experience with the Signal Corp of the Swedish Military Service, having achieved the grade of Staff Sergeant. Coming from Piteå, near the Swedish Polar Area, Mr. Gustafsson remains true to his interest in outdoors activities, nature and forests, manifested also by his acquisition of private forest acreage. Mr. Gustafsson has a strong interest in sustainable development, reforestation and environmental and endurance use of forest recourses.

REGIS CABRAL

Dr. Regis Cabral is a technology transfer specialist. He is a hydrogen physicist and a historian of science and technology, having written a PhD dissertation on the interactions of science and diplomacy (University of Chicago, 1986). He has published more than 300 books, articles and reports, many of them on the relations between universities and the productive sector. He is known internationally for the Cabral Dahab Science Park Management Paradigm, which has been used to plan, establish, study and evaluate science parks, business incubators and similar organisations. Dr. Cabral has long engagement with European projects. This includes, previously, a seat in the board of directors of the European University of Environment, the Innovation Relay Center which was the European Commission network dedicated to technology transfer and the management of ICP LEAP which was a distance education project for the Middle East. His evaluation experience includes the ICT Stockholm Challenge Award, international aid programs and the European Commission. He has actually evaluated entire organisations such as UNESCO and UNCTAD, and innitiatives such as the US Department of State Global Innovation Through Science and Technology. Dr. Cabral is referee and reviewer for several journals and conferences. He has received awards from AOM, Academy of Management, USA, in the Organisation Management and Theory Division and Entrepreneurship Division. He is an experienced speaker, with previous professor (UFSC, Brazil), lecturer (University of Lund, Sweden) and key note (I3E) positions. He holds several elected / trust postions, including as member of the Committee for Employment and Adult Education and as substitute in the City Council, both in the city of Piteå, Sweden. Dr. Cabral is currently Director of FEPRO – Funding for European Projects.

AKAL MAMO

Akal Mamo, (formerly named Akalu Mamo and legally constitute his original name Akalewold Mamo), started business in 1996, and ever since then he has created an innovative business company, Silverstar Engineering based in Addis Ababa, with investments and operations in Ethiopia and South Africa. Akal has spent his early business career in the Netherlands back in 1997. He has joined Addis Ababa University in 1995 and studied business education for two years. Currently he is attending his MBA at Lincoln University, California, Ethiopia branch. He has started property business in South Africa since 2001, where he enjoyed and staged remarkable success, featuring high end apartments in Melrose Arch Johannesburg, and Blaawberg, TabelView Cape Town. Not only in property, but in trade and investment of other areas such as engineering, equipment, IT and security technology in Ethiopia, being partnered with global companies located in South Africa, Czech Republic, UK, Germany etc. Following the growth and transformation plan, GTP of the Government of Ethiopia, a five year national development plan, seen by many as 'Marshal Plan', Akal and his innovative company Silverstar Engineering revised the company's program in line to the GTP, where it has three main business areas named Engineering&Manufacturing - Renewable Energy & Environmental Technology - Property Development.
